Norway: TotalEnergies and its partners submits Eldfisk North development plan

Stavanger, 9 May, 2022 – TotalEnergies and its partners have submitted a plan for development and operation (PDO) for the Eldfisk North Project, following extension of the Greater Ekofisk Area licence granted by the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy for 20 additional years, until 2048.

The Eldfisk North Project is targeting 50-90 Mboe of additional resources in the Eldfisk Field, through a 7 km subsea tie-back connecting 14 new wells to the existing installations in the North Sea. First production is expected in 2024, with a peak production of 15 kboe/d.

“TotalEnergies is one of the Greater Ekofisk Area pioneers, and will continue to add value to the area through this tie-back project. With its quick lead time of 2 years, low breakeven and class-leading GHG emissions, below 10 kg/boe, the Eldfisk North Project fits ideally in TotalEnergies’ portfolio, and will contribute to TotalEnergies and Norway’s shared energy future,” said Phil Cunningham, TotalEnergies Norway Managing Director and Country Chair. “With more than 4,000 jobs generated and 80 percent of the contracts’ value for both development and operations phases going to Norwegian businesses, this project will create beneficial ripple effects in many local communities.”

TotalEnergies holds a 39.9 % interest in the Eldfisk field, alongside ConocoPhillips (35.1 %, operator), Vår Energi (12.4 %), Equinor (7.6 %) and Petoro (5.0 %).
