Uptonia spudded

The drilling campaign on the Uptonia prospect in the North Sea started on 18 December.

The semi-submersible rig Leiv Eiriksson is drilling exploration well 34/6-4. It will be drilled to a total depth of about 4,150 metres, where the objective is to explore the Cook Formation in the Uptonia panel.

Exploration manager Paul Sexton says: “The main objectives are to examine the potential presence of hydrocarbons in the Cook Formation and to define the reservoir properties and fluid characterisation.”
