Solaris spudded

The drilling campaign on the high pressure and high temperature Solaris prospect in the North Sea started on 24 February.

The jack-up rig Maersk Gallant is drilling the exploration well 1/5-5. It is a high pressure and high temperature well with a maximum expected pressure of 1,302 bar and a temperature of 219 degrees Celsius at total depth of 6,387 metres.

The main objective is to examine the potential presence of hydrocarbons in the Jurassic Ula Formation. The secondary objective is to explore hydrocarbon potential in the Triassic Skagerrak Formation.
